Vibejar

Privacy policy

This policy explains what the Vibejar publication collects when you read, subscribe, or get in touch, plus how legacy app data is handled after the app's retirement.

Effective

Who we are

Vibejar is operated by John Kueh in Sydney, Australia. In this policy, “Vibejar”, “we”, and “us” refer to the website, newsletter, contact form, and legacy records from the retired Vibejar capture app. More about the operator is on the about page.

Information we collect

  • Newsletter information: the email address you submit and your subscription status.
  • Contact messages: your name, email address, and message when you use the contact form or email us directly.
  • Website and technical information: page views, referral information, browser and device details, approximate location, environment, and diagnostic events collected by hosting and analytics providers.
  • Legacy app information: the retired app may still have account identifiers, email addresses, captures, notes, pairing records, analytics, and purchase status created before retirement. The app no longer accepts new users or content.

How we collect and use it

We collect information when you browse the website, subscribe, contact us, or when our hosting and analytics providers operate their infrastructure. Legacy app records were collected when the app was active.

We use this information to:

  • publish, secure, and improve the website;
  • manage newsletter subscriptions and send requested email;
  • reply to contact messages;
  • measure readership and diagnose failures;
  • respond to support, privacy, safety, and legal requests; and
  • prevent abuse and protect Vibejar and its readers.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information for third-party targeted advertising.

Who receives information

We use Resend for newsletter contacts and email delivery, Vercel for website hosting and analytics, and Google Analytics when it is configured. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Supabase, Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, and Vercel may retain limited legacy app records while the retirement and legally required retention work is completed. The retired app no longer sends new captures or agent work.

We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.

Your choices, access, and deletion

  • You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email.
  • You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you.
  • You may ask us to delete your newsletter, contact, or legacy app information, subject to records we must retain by law.

Email john.kueh.dev@gmail.com with “Vibejar privacy request” in the subject. For a legacy app account, we may ask for information needed to verify that the request concerns your data.

Retention

We keep newsletter information until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion, and contact messages while they are useful for the conversation or a legal obligation. Legacy app records are kept only while needed for retirement, security, disputes, purchase administration, legal compliance, and backup recovery. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

International processing

Vibejar and its providers operate across countries. Your information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other places where our providers operate. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate privacy and security protections.

Security

We use access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Contact us if you believe your email address, message, or legacy app data has been exposed.

Children

Vibejar is written for adults building software and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Vibejar, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Questions and complaints

Use the contact page or email john.kueh.dev@gmail.com. We will review privacy questions and complaints and respond within a reasonable time. If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Vibejar changes. We will publish the current version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
